So National Signing Day has passed and they finally released the new recruits for the men's soccer team. There are 6 new players including 2 Las Vegas natives.
1. Sebastian Hernandez (Bonanza High School) Defender
2.Saul Aguirre (Legacy High School) Forward
3.Kevin Partida (Northen Nevada) Midfielder
4.Julien Dragomir (Phoenix, AZ) Forward
5. Brad Holub (Arvada, CO) Goalkeeper
6.Mitch Myers (Orondo, WA) Midfielder
Good luck to these gentleman when they join UNLV's Rebels in the fall. I included their positions but keep in mind Coach Ryerson may chose to put these guys in different positions depending on where they fit into the team.

The UNLV mens soccer team played the Colorado Rapids Reserve team last night (2/14) for valentines day. UNLV lost 4-0 but the game was very physical and intense. The boys did a good job of keeping up with the semi-professional players who were in town because the Colorado Rapids will play the CHIVAS USA tonight at Sam Boyd Stadium.
UNLV coach said the boys were disappointed to have lost but this gives them great experience because a lot of his players have dreams of becoming professional soon.
I filmed the game and some interviews with players UNLV coach and the rapids reserve public relations specialist. After I cut the tape I will post for you all to see!!

In the fall, UNLV men's soccer will be moving from the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation MPSF conference into the Westen Athletic Conference WAC. They have been playing in the MPSF for 14 years. 15 years ago they played for the WAC conference so they are moving back to their roots.
The WAC conference is also adding 3 more schools other than UNLV
-San Jose State
-Air Force
-Houston Baptist

Introduction + 3 payers made MPSF All- Academic Team
Although Men's soccer is not in season there team still is making headlines. I'm here to inform you of the things team has been doing. I am not a member, in any way, of their team so the opinions are all of my own and they may be good or bad. I am just practicing my journalism skills and following a team that is gaining momentum at UNLV!
Last semester the team went 6-14-1. Needless to say, that's not very good but I did watch some of their games and believe they could've won a lot more but "could've" does not show on their record. Anyway, they did have some good news to report...
3 Players made the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team
-Mike Mota
-Ryan Robertson
-Kyle Mellies
I will update with more news from this rebel team. This coverage will also include the tournaments they play in this semster.
